Tanya L. Young is a writer and visual artist. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Western Washington University. She is a PhD student at the University of Rhode Island. Her visual and written work has been featured in publications such as Salt Hill, The Amistad, New Delta Review, New York Quarterly and others. She was the 2022-2023 Poetry Editor for Bellingham Review. In 2025, Tanya was a Los Angeles Review of Books Publishing Workshop fellow. She is a 2024 VONA alum. For her poetry, she was a finalist for the 2025 Rumpus Poetry Prize, the 2025 Patricia Cleary Miller Award for Poetry and her work was long-listed for the 2025 ONLY POEMS Poet of the Year Prize. Currently, she is a staff reader for TriQuarterly and has read for publications such as Frontier Poetry and Tupelo Press.
