Tanya L. Young is a writer and visual artist. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Western Washington University. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Rhode Island. Her visual and written work has been featured in publications such as Salt Hill, The Amistad, New Delta Review, New York Quarterly and others. In 2025, Tanya was a fellow of the Los Angeles Review of Books Publishing Workshop. She is a 2024 VONA alum. She was a finalist for the 2025 Rumpus Poetry Prize, and her work was long-listed for the 2025 ONLY POEMS Poet of the Year Prize. She is a staff reader for TriQuarterly and has read for publications such as Frontier Poetry and Tupelo Press. She was the 2022-2023 Poetry Editor for Bellingham Review. Currently,. she serves on the Editorial Committee for The Ocean State Review.
